We visited as a family of five and a dog. We chose this site as it was dog friendly and we were able to freeze our ice blocks. If you use the freezer (free) make sure you put them low and near a side otherwise they won't freeze!
Facilities were really clean and the shop on site well stocked and not overpriced. It is a long way to a supermarket so be prepared for a trip back to Swansea or to pay more to buy local. I Recommend the Welsh cakes sold on site!
We took the children to a different beach everyday which they loved, some have toilets others not. The place to view the sunset is down at Hillend beach but you will have to pay to park even in the evening. We stayed in the first field on the right past the toilet block which wasn't too far to walk (from bottom of field) with three small children to the toilet.
All staff were very friendly and would recommend this site.
He'd a great 4 days at this Caravan/Camp site.
Staff a very friendly and alway willing to help which, was tested when I had car issues.
They were so helpful and kind. You are not crammed in and the views are lovely.
Facilities are great and very clean.
The onsite shop/reception stocks assorts for things (even bubbles to keep my boy happy). I would recommend a stay here.
We will be back to further explore the Gower, fingers crossed for no car issues.
Really enjoyed our stay here on the Bank holiday weekend. We stayed for 3 nights in a small tent.parked the car by our tent. The shop is well stocked with emergency things you may need and food. The people who run the place are very helpful and friendly. Clean showers and toilets and a washing area for dishes with a freezer to freeze your ice packs. The site is spacious and dog and child friendly. It is possible to walk to a very nice pub nearby. The Brittania inn serves lovely food and has a children's play area. It is about 25 minutes walk away.Llangeneith Beach is great for surfing and bodyboarding and just about a 40 minute walk away,we drove to the beach as parking was 3 pounds for the whole day.We didn't fancy walking with all our beach stuff. There is a lovely pub about 20 minutes walk from the beach too.Had a lovely meal here too. The Kings is a lovely pub to sit outside on a sunny day and admire the great view.
We are looking forward to returning to Kennexstone Camp site next summer and taking the dog and family too.
I am very impressed after our first visit the The Gower. Lovely campsite, spacious plots and helpful staff that at time of booking arranged all four of our plots to be next to each other. Dog and child friendly site. Lovely fresh bread and welsh cakes amongst other essentials in the onsite shop and bits for kids to spend their holiday money on. We went to Oxwich Beach ( 10-15 mins drive) which was great for rock pooling and crabbing etc, and Rossini (5-10 mins drive) for surfing and body boarding - both beach dog friendly and can be let off lead which our dog loved as the weather was just perfect! Ice Cream van visit site each night but by the time it got to our field it was dark but this made it great fun and a novelty for the kids each night.
Only downside was a 2 families in plots next to our friends were very loud until midnight each night and their children riding bikes and ringing the bells at 6a.m wasn't great camping courtesy.
